A dog's life for Chesney

Chesney's beloved dog Schmiechel is set for a run in with a bus.

Poor little Coronation Street resident Chesney is already the unluckiest child in Weatherfield.

The unfortunate chap has enough to contend with, living with layabout Les Battersby and his less than attentive mother.

Now Chesney's closest friend in the Street, his beloved dog Schmiechel, is set to be run over by novice bus driver Claire.

Wracked with nerves on her first day behind the wheel, Claire's husband Ashley takes little Joshua to the end of the road to wave off his stepmum as she starts her new job.

But Joshua is more interested in rushing across the road to pat Schmeichel and runs straight into the path of the bus.

As the bus swerves out of the way to avoid him, Chesney's precious pooch ends up becoming the victim of Claire's new driving skills.

A distraught Chesney rushes to the aid of his dog but viewers will have to wait and see whether poor old Schmeichel has barked his last.
