YouTube forced to upgrade after Psy's Gangnam Style music video breaks 2 billion views limit

YouTube said the video has been viewed more than 2,147,483,647 times.

The music video for South Korean singer Psy’s Gangnam Style has broken YouTube 2 billion views limit prompting the site to upgrade its counter.

YouTube, which has confirmed that the video has been viewed more than 2,147,483,647 times, change maximum view limit to more than nine quintillion.

In a statement, it said: "We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer... but that was before we met Psy."

Google, which owns YouTube, said that engineers "saw this coming a couple months ago and updated our systems to prepare for it.”

Psy is yet to make a comment.

Meanwhile, the second most watched video on YouTube is Justin Bieber’s Baby, which was viewed more than a billion times.
