X Factor contestant Katie Waissel has sensationally told her family that she may have to quit the show after finding it hard to deal with a media hate campaign.

The 24-year-old, who has faced much criticism by both the public and media outlets for being too brazen and cocky, had to be talked out of leaving by Simon Cowell.

After becoming ill in Topshop, fears have grown for the singer, who had previously said she wants to be a “legend”.

The pressure of having to constantly prove herself to the nation is said to be the main reason she wants to leave the show.

It has been reported that her relationship with fellow group member Cher Lloyd has been overshadowed by her jealously of the 17-year-old being mentor CherylÂ’s favourite.

Fans of X Factor are also said to be angered by rumours of a supposed fling with favourite-to-win Matt Cardle, something which he has denied.

Her perfomances have been improving each week, however, and it seems the public have started to warm towards her after voting her into the bottom two in the first week.
