No sooner is Big Brother out of the door, than another reality monolith comes lumbering in - X Factor is back.
And the new series looks set to have as freaky a menagerie of wannabes as the last, as well as the same chart topping talent that saw the now dropped Steven Brookstein score a number one single and album off the back of the show.
While Mr Nasty, Simon Cowell, is keen to find someone who will be an "international superstar", there are plenty of contestants who may not size up to his requirements, but nevertheless look to be good entertainment value.
Firstly there is Michelle Thorne, a glamour model and porn star who will be a familiar face and chest to those who have stayed up late slyly watching the Adult Channel.
The busty blonde has made it through to the final 60 in the talent contest, and sources reckon she will be a hit with the male fraternity watching the show.
An ITV insider said: "The young lads will vote for her. Shes a dream for the show."
The blonde bombshell has proven that she's more than just eye candy, too, having worked as a vocalist at holiday camps, with headline acts such as Bobby Davro, Billy Pierce, and the cheeky squeaker Joe Pasquale.
In addition to Thorne is another, ahem, lady, who's sure to catch the eye of viewers: Justine.
Justine, who is actually a 51-year-old milkman called Justin, can been seen stunning judges Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne, when he turns up for a second audition dressed in drag.
The first time around, manly Justin was laughed out of the room by the judges, after performing an alarmingly falsetto Dusty Springfield number.
He was told by Cowell: "You sing like a six-year-old girl," before fellow judge Walsh added: "I would love to see you in drag."
And that's exactly what Louis got, as the next day, the judges were confronted by Justine, clad head to toe in a wig, dress, tights and heels.
Judge Sharon Osbourne was impressed: "The new X Factor really is like a musical version of Little Britain- we had a lay-dee audition.
"Justin was fabulous," she concluded
The new series starts on Saturday night on ITV1.
