Singer Will.i.am recently made obvious comments suggesting that Simon Cowell may indeed have been responsible for Cheryl Cole’s removal from the US version of The X Factor.
“There are English guys that go to America and it’s hard for them,” he said.
“Let’s take Cheryl Cole, for example.” His follow-up comments then hinted that Cowell was the one that made the show hard for Cheryl. “She went and did a TV show and it was hard for her. And it wasn’t hard for her because of an American – it was hard for her because of a Brit.”
This came in the wake of a sensational row between Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell, who axed the 28-year-old singer embarrassingly from The X Factor in the US just weeks after it began filming. Some rumours suggested that her accent was the problem, but other reports said giving Cole the boot was an intentional move from Simon.
Her removal from The X Factor was a major blow to the singer as many people had thought it was supposed to be her big break in the US.
After her removal, the singer was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger of Pussycat Dolls.
