Kylie Minogue and James Corden have recorded a Christmas duet in a bid to top the charts this yuletide season.
Kylie asked the comedian and actor to collaborate on her forthcoming festive album with the label bosses saying that the catchy track is tipped to be the lead single.
A source said: "James recorded the track in secret with Kylie after she asked him to feature.”
"It was meant to be the jokey song on the album but producers were so impressed there's a strong chance it's going to be the lead single. James is a very good singer and the song is actually a great listen."
James has previously expressed his desire to record his own Christmas collection one day. He said: "Almost for my own enjoyment - and when I say my own enjoyment, I mean just to record for myself to keep in my house - I have started to think I should make a Christmas album.
"I love Christmas music so much that I start listening to it in October. I've started listening to the Michel Bublé album and I'm thinking maybe I'll just do it on my own."
Kylie has also asked her sister Dannii to do a duet with her. An insider said: “Minogue fans have long wanted a duet between the two sisters, but Kylie never felt it was the right time. Also, her management tried to avoid it because they considered the pair were in different leagues.
“But now Dannii’s profile is buoyed by her X Factor judging duties and Kylie is management-free, she feels it’s a no-brainer. They did a couple of songs, but are waiting to see which one comes out best.”
