Dannii Minogue has revealed why she quit the X Factor.

The Australian star had been a judge on the music competition for four years, before leaving at the same time as fellow judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole.

Now she's revealed why she made the decision to quit the panel for good.

Speaking on radio station Heart FM she said:

"It does eat all of us up and spit us out at the end.”

"The dates of the filming got put back twice and I'd already started Australia's Got Talent by the time they said, 'Ok, here it is - let's do the show'.

"It would've meant me flying back and forth from Australia once a week for ten weeks with a one-year-old child.

"I'd just got out of hospital three days before having my appendix out and I was like, 'I'm sorry but it's not possible'."

The former popstar recently revealed on ITV's This Morning that she's hardly seen any of the new show, or the new judges.

She also wouldn't be drawn into confirming rumours that she's set to join BritainÂ’s Got Talent as a judge, but she did let slip that "discussions" were taking place, adding:

"I have to make a decision soon but I guess it's been a time for me to be back at home and really have family time which I haven't had for a few years so."
