We can find AC commonly in our vehicles, at malls, movie theatres and even in shopping complexes.
However, hefty electricity bills are one of the major disadvantages of using AC besides its harmful effects on your health.
Here are some negative sides for ACs for your health, if you use them excessively:
Dry Air: One of the biggest disadvantages of spending long hours in the air conditioner is that it turns your skin dry and sensitive. Many people feel fatigued due to the dehydration caused by continuous use of air conditioners. It also arouses breathing difficulty by drying out your mucus membranes.
Sinus congestion: If you are suffering from sinus, the dust, bacteria, and pollen accumulated in your air conditioner may alleviate your symptoms. If you notice that you are finding it difficult to breathe after some time you enter an AC room, it's clear that it is due to the Air Conditioner.
Heat intolerance: When you spend long hours in an air conditioned environment, your body becomes intolerant to the hot environments outside. You may experience heavy sweating or even dizziness due to overheating.
Frequent colds: Upon dropping temperature, several viruses thrive within the environment. Especially, when there is a sharp decrease in temperature, our immune system gets adversely affected including constriction in your throat and nose. This leads to a fall in white blood cells, making you highly susceptible to cold.
Asthma and respiratory troubles aggravations: You need to maintain your air conditioner well to avoid any build-up of pollen or bacteria in its air filters. In case, if you give it a miss, you are prone to respiratory tract infections and asthma attacks as well.
But when the temperature is soaring high, how could one find relief?
Well, a cooler bed is one of the viable ways to sleep peacefully at comfortable temperatures. Especially, if you are jostling with night sweats, hot flushes, or menopause, these cool beds help you sleep throughout the night comfortably.
Instead of using active elements such as air or water-cooling, it works with the cooling pads to maintain the temperature of your mattress and improve its airflow or ventilation within your bed surface. You sleep cooler as the mattress absorbs your body heat.
Here are some of the advantages of using bed cooling systems:
Prevents night sweating: During pre-menopause and menopause, 75% women suffer from night sweats. Men having lower testosterone levels also suffer from this problem. A cooling mattress is designed to maintain your body temperature by absorbing the body heat and dispersing it.
Boost your metabolism: Research by the National Institutes of Health reveals that sleeping cool improves the metabolism and in turn helps in losing weight. It helps in increasing the brown fat in your body that burns calories and improves insulin sensitivity as well.
Environment Friendly: There are cooling mattresses that come with a TENCEL cover which is a botanical cover, highly breathable and efficiently wicks away moisture.
In the times of choosing organic food and natural products, why not consider a mattress which is environmentally friendly too.
Sleeping cool also improves melatonin production and reduces insomnia. While Air conditioner comes with certain disadvantages, relying on bed cooling is highly reliable.
