Move over Candy Crush and Pokemon GO – there is now a new game show available on phones that people have been talking about and playing together – the HQ Trivia. While most apps cost you money, this one gives you the opportunity to win big bucks, but only if you answer all questions correctly.
HQ Trivia, which is currently only available on iOS devices, takes place twice each weekday and once on weekends. It is hosted by a comedian who asks 12 multiple-choice questions from simple to extremely difficult.
Rus Yusupov, one of HQ Trivia’s founders, said: “It’s clear that there’s a lot of attention on us now because this thing has blown up overnight practically. We have ambitions to essentially build the future of TV.
Mr Yusupov and his co-founder Colin Kroll previously founded the six-second video app Vine. The New York-based duo have been working to develop video apps for the past two years using funding from the first institution to invest in Snapchat – Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Mr. Kroll said: “There’s a point-of-view live, where you’re experiencing something through someone else’s phone, and then there’s this idea of interactive video, where the audience is actually a key component of driving the content. I became really interested in the latter and saw there was a real absence in the market of that sort of experience.”
