Using voice commands, you can use it to set alarms, control other smart appliances in the house, check out events in your area or have it read you the weather forecast before you head out in the morning.
Google Home has thousands of skills that you can activate using shortcut phrases. For example, instead of opening a radio app on your phone, you can just say ‘Play Radio 2’ and your Google Home will obey.
Some of the most used Google Home Skills are the following:
· WhatsApp – This skill allows you to send messages by voice – so you can record yourself – and text. Simply say, “Send a WhatsApp message” to get it started.
· Weather – Just ask, “What’s the weather in [location] and Google Home will tell you if you’ll be needing a brolly or suncream before you head out.
· I’m Home Routine – This is specifically useful if you have a number of smart devices in your home that you want to control all at the same time. For example, as soon you are ready to sleep, you can simply say “Good night” and your Google Home will know that it needs to turn out all the lights, lock your doors and windows, set the alarm and make sure that all other appliances are turned off.
