Welwyn Hatfield Council is upgrading its streaming service to better serve its residents. The new facilities come with upgraded features that can help increase resident engagement and involvement in decision making.
The service, which previously cost the council £7,980 a year to maintain, will now cost £14,000 a year.
Explaining the need for an upgrade, a spokeswoman for the council said: “It will be made clear to viewers who is speaking, with links to councillor information.
“People will be able to skip to specific agenda items that interest them, and electronic voting will display on-screen.
“Our new supplier is the largest in the local government sector and we hope the full range of new features will go live this autumn.”
All DMC, Full Council and Local Plan meetings will continue to be streamed during the changeover.
