Weird news of the week: Britain’s most expensive parking space sold for £400,000
Only in London will you find a parking space worth more than the car you’d put in it...

Britain’s most expensive car parking space has been revealed. At £400,000, the spot in London will cost the wealthy buyer more than double the average cost of an entire UK home.
However, it is essentially two for the price of one as the underground space will reportedly fit two cars.
Positioned near London’s Royal Albert Hall, the Telegraph did the maths on the space and worked out that a motorist “could afford to park their car 880 yards away at the nearest NCP car park for 31 years - at a cost of £35.10 a day.”
Hefty price tags for spaces in the notoriously difficult to park region are not uncommon. Last year another space went up for £275,000.
Then again, with average house prices in the SW7 post code well into the millions, a typical homeowner in the area could probably afford it.
