VR TV On the Way

Oculus TV is coming.

Aside from Oculus Go headset, Oculus has announced today that it is working on a new element of its in-headset experience for users who wish to bring TV inside their VR. Called Oculus TV, it is meant to provide VR users a quick and easy way to dive into video content from streaming partners.

 

The app places a TV experience into your virtual environment with the use of on-screen controls, which essentially turn the virtual screen in the virtual room into a sort of Chromecast or Apple TV-like experience.

 

The service will be directly integrated with Facebook Watch, Pluto TV and Red Bull TV at launch. The company says it is now working with networks to bring native integrations.

 

Oculus TV will launch later this month for Oculus Go.
