A VoIP phone isn’t much different from the analog phone that we have been using for many years. Both look the same, offer you the capability to make and receive calls, and often have the same features. 

 

Their main difference, however, is aVoIP phone uses an Internet connection so offices that are already wired for Ethernet do not need to invest in additional copper wiring to use for their business phones.

 

To make and receive phone calls, a VoIP phone needs to be registered and connected to a service provider so that they can communicate with each other. Some VoIP providers support IP phone booting for certain VoIP phones to speed up the registration process. Once the VoIP phones is registered, it is active and ready to use.

 

A VoIP phone looks the same as any other business desk phone. They also have handsets, receivers, speaker locations and button placement. They also use the same keypad as landline phones. However, unlike traditionalphones, VoIP phones are tied to user accounts and not phone numbers. They are also capable of HD voice, which has twice the audio range of traditional landline calls.
