Viv shattered by Scott injury

Emmerdale busy body Viv is devastated when she is first told that her stepson is guilty of rape - and then that he might have brain damage.

Scott is rushed to hospital after Zoe injects him with a horse drug, Ketamine, during an argument over custody of their daughter.

On hearing the news, Viv goes straight around to see Zoe, played by Leah Bracknell, to find out what has happened to her stepson.

When the battleaxe, played by Deena Payne, is told that Zoe was simply defending herself as Scott tried to rape her, she explodes with anger.

She refuses to believe Zoe's version and is only prevented from attacking her when Depaul comes in and separates the two screaming women.

Things go from bad to worse, however, when Viv goes to visit Scott, played by Ben Freeman, in hospital and is told that he may suffer permanent brain damage from the attack.

Meanwhile, the police are also suspicious of Zoe's part in the fight and arrest her. She is bailed until they can take a statement from Scott, but will this ever be possible?
