Ex-Hollyoaks star Paul Danan was booted off Celebrity Love Island last night, along with special pal Lady Isabella Hervey.
The couple's on-off relationship had kept viewers bemused during their stint on the reality TV show, but leaving the love camp, Paul admitted that after philandering with other fillies, all he wanted to do was make his posh princess happy.
Paul had earlier put Isabella's nose out of joint by abandoning the chase for her to hook up with Playboy model Nikki Ziering, before having a change of heart on Thursday.
Commenting on his well-known feelings for the It-girl, Paul said: "When I first got here the first choice was the right choice.
"I really love her and I want to make her happy."
Whether Lady Isabella will finally succumb to Paul's charms away from the cameras is another matter.
Speaking last night, she said the pair were "just really, really good friends".
But when pressed whether there might be any romance in the air away from the Fijian hideaway, she admitted: "It's more than friendship. You can never say never."
"He has a good heart but he does speak before he thinks and that's why nothing happened between us," she told Love Island hosts Patrick Kiely and Kelly Brook.
Paul admitted that he regretted his booze-fuelled antics on the show, which led to rows and fights with his fellow castaways.
"I regret drinking but I suppose that's what alcohol does to me," he said.
Still, Lady Isabella might be reassured by the 26-year-old actor's claim that he has undergone a "real life change" since starring in the ITV1 show.
"Before I came I didn't like myself. The best thing that could have happened is I've got Pauly back," he said.
