Social Space, a Glasgow-based digital agency, has successfully brought nearly every element of the Glen Scotia Whiskey Festival to an online audience amid the coronavirus lockdown.
Samples of unique whiskies from Glen Scotia's dunnage warehouse were sent directly to whiskey enthusiasts in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany and Poland ahead of the online tasting session with master distiller Iain McAlister. Social Space's team of videographers and photographers also filmed original video tours showcasing history walking tours around Campbeltown. The firm also teamed up with Scottish Malt Whiskey Society to feature a virtual pub with live music and whiskey tasting.
Claire Fraser, campaign director with Social Space, said: "The Campbeltown festival is one of the most popular events in the whiskey calendar, showcasing the town's rich heritage.
"Our team spent a week in the town to create all the unique content, allowing us to design a fully digital whiskey festival, bringing nearly every element to a wide audience online.
"Not only will this encourage more people to visit Scotland in future festivals in the post-Covid-19 world, the digital festival is proving so popular it's also here to stay."
