Using Video to Showcase your Company
If you have already decided your company needs a corporate video, you’ve made a wise decision.

The trends are clear, and consumers consume video more than any other form of online media.
So instead of selling the concept of video, this article aims to help you figure out how to execute your project and to make sure the video is the best possible quality within your budget. And while it’s not a Hollywood blockbuster, deciding on where to start on a video project is always a bit of a challenge in itself!
Don’t cut corners with your search
Assuming you’re not in a position to hire an in-house team and buy equipment, deciding on a corporate video production provider to work with is the first item of business. But it’s a competitive marketplace, and choosing the right partner isn’t the most straightforward thing in the world either. Look for agencies that demonstrate a strong ability to tell a story – that is, do an effective job of highlighting their clients’ core value propositions. Look at potential video agencies’ portfolios and decide for yourself – do you understand each of their clients’ value propositions from just watching the videos? If so, great – job done. If not – move on to another choice.
Stand out – for the right reasons
Video content also needs to create interest and excitement – or at the very least be memorable (for the right reasons!). A video is a 1-3 minute opportunity (maximum) to showcase your firm’s personality and uniqueness, and tell a potential client why they need to do business with you. Try to choose a video partner that you feel will convey the spirit of your brand – perhaps find which ones your competitors are using if there are some that you have seen that are particularly effective.
Next, meet with the agencies and see how they propose to help you with your video journey. They need to understand the ins and outs of your company and its values, so be prepared to put everything on the table. See how they think that it fits with their signature style, and how they will bring your collective visions to life.
What’s their approach?
Lastly, find out how proactive and involved the agency will be. Do they stick to a rigid formula, or will they be able to produce a great product for your company from a blank canvas? How creative or conservative are they? These are all crucial questions, and it’s vital to understand each and every one before making your choice.
