Time For T?
Councillors from Perth and Kinross have reached a decision on where this summer’s T in the Park festival will be held.

Scotland’s biggest music festival will be held at Perthshire estate starting this year, as decided by Perth and Kinross councillors. However, not everybody was happy with the decision. Wildlife groups have clashed with festival organisers and thousands of negative comments were submitted during public consultations.
Organisers changed the venue after “substantial” concerns were raised by the Health and Safety Executive about the Forties oil pipeline, which runs underneath the site.
As the event would attract campers who are more likely to stay for four days during the entire event, local residents have raised concerns and have written to the Scottish government asking them to intervene.
The ministers decided that full assessment needed to be carried out to measure the environmental impact of the said event.
Meanwhile, supporters of the event said that the festival generates £15.4m for the Scottish economy each year, as well as £2.7m locally in Perthshire. They also pointed to the event team's experience of planning and record of environmental protection at Balado.
T in the Park bosses commissioned a survey; it showed that 62per cent has backed the approval while only 19per cent were against it.
