It has been reported that people spend more on Halloween than they do on ValentineÂ’s Day.
Researchers found that the sales of sweets, costumes and themed foods are less trick and more treat for supermarkets across the country.
Tesco'Â’s recent report stated that the Americanised holiday had actually overtaken MotherÂ’s Day too, as one of its best selling periods.
The supermarket expects to earn over £50illion from the sale of Halloween items each year.
It is now thought that the day, which celebrates all that is spooky, is only topped by Christmas and Easter.
But what do you spend all your dosh on for the event? Before Halloween arrives, we take a look at the top five essential items you need to buy before this 31 October.
1 – Trick or Treat sweets
Every Halloween, you will get children coming to your door shouting “Trick or Treat!”, and this year is no exception.
Reports suggest that more kids will be flocking to the front doors of the nation this year, so therefore you need to be prepared.
Invest in some variety packs of chocolates and sweets, look out for offers in the shops, as then you can dish out the goodies evenly between Trick or Treaters.
