Switch to a Digital CCTV Camera
Despite the availability of digital CCTV camera, around 80per cent of CCTV installations are analog.

Many businesses are adamant to make a switch because of two reasons: it would require a ‘rip and replace’ of their existing infrastructure and digital CCTV is more complex and expensive to install.
Neither of these arguments is true.
Analogue systems can be connected to the digital world without changing the cameras and cabling. It can be achieved by
simply adding an intelligent adapter designed to send encrypted footage directly to secure cloud storage via broadband, 3G or satellite services. There is also no need for third party hardware like new routers and firewalls.
Also, just like digital CCTVs, their analog counterparts are also vulnerable to hackers. However, there are cloud solutions that only require outbound connections, closing off the inbound option for intruders. And because an IP adapter for an analogue camera only has to perform a fraction of the functionality of a full DVR, it is much less powerful and hence much less attractive to potential hackers. These features can be complemented by appropriate in house network security monitoring to keep would-be intruders at bay.
