Emmerdale's Stephanie Stokes is set for a dramatic exit from the hit soap.

Reports suggest that the scheming Steph will end it all in a spectacular cliff top scene.

According to the Daily Star, Steph and her unsuspecting dad end up in a car chase leading to the edge of a cliff.

Cornered, with her plans to get her hands on the family business exposed, she looks ready to drive the car over the edge in the style of cult 90s chick flick, Thelma and Louise.

However, a soap insider told the paper that Steph gets out of the car and walks towards the cliff edge. But the soap's writers are staying tight-lipped over her fate.

"We're not spoiling the story," the insider said. "Viewers will just have to tune in to find out."
