Soap stars announce split

Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh and former Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas have split up.

A spokesperson for the ITV soap confirmed that Lomas had moved out of Marsh's home.

A statement said: "Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh has announced that she and former Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas have split up after 15 months together.

"Jamie has moved out of Kym's house in Cheshire. There is no one else involved and neither party wish to comment at this time."

Although the exact reason for the split has not been revealed, it has been reported that the celebrity couple were devastated after their baby son Archie, who was born 18 weeks premature, died in February.

The pair first met on a train to the TV Quick Awards in London in 2007. They officially got together in July 2008 after her six-year marriage to EastEnders actor Jack Ryder ended in March 2008.

Lomas recently left Hollyoaks after three years. He played resident bad boy Warren Fox. Marsh plays single mother Michelle Connor in the ITV soap.
