Tracy Barlow will make a surprise return to Coronation Street this Christmas in an explosive new storyline, it has been confirmed.

The convict, who is currently in prison for murder, was last seen in May when she attempted to try and win back her freedom by testifying against Gail McIntyre.

Officers investigating McIntyreÂ’s case, in which she was alleged to have killed her husband Joe, went to Barlow in an attempt to gain evidence for a conviction.

Having failed to do so, however, Tracy was left still serving her 15-year sentence with no attempt for bail.

Now, Coronation Street bosses have thrown in the shock that she will make a return to the Street on Christmas Eve, much to the shock of her family and her arch enemy Becky.

It is not yet known how or why Tracy gets released from prison.
