Housing developers now incorporate smart home technology to their projects, making their homes more attractive to home-buyers.

Many housing developers are now creating smart, well-connected homes by incorporating high-tech options into new constructions. Their focus remains on security and energy savings using systems that can control smart door locks, interior and exterior lights, home security systems and heating and air conditioning.

 

For easy set up, real estate developers ensure that each home is completely wired with enough bandwidth to support video and audio streaming. An example project is Hallmark Communities that provide homes with a Structured Universal Network (S.U.N.) including Category 5 Enhanced wiring for telephone and data communications.

 

Bemi Jauhal, director of sales and marketing at Bosa Development, said: “It’s important for Pacific Gate residents to have a smart home that allows them to easily automate climate, lighting and window treatments using their mobile device. This way, homeowners can program settings to fit their individual needs and preferences. In addition, technology that provides filtered water, such as Everpure, is relevant to our homebuyers.”

 

Meritage Homes, which offers home in Pacific Highlands Ranch, recently announced plans to include Wi-Fi enabled home automation technology in all new construction. Their homes will be designed with a centralised location for the Wi-Fi modem and items, such as garage-door openers and video doorbells, will be included.
