Jim Davidson was nominated every week but managed to survive each elimination and although he was given odds of 1-5 from bookmakers William Hill, he still emerged as the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2014.
The comic overtook the likes of Made In Chelsea’s Ollie Locke, TOWIE babe Sam Faiers, voluptuous model Casey Batchelor, the N-Dubz rapper Dappy and The Apprentice runner-up Luisa Zissman for the coveted prize.
Talking about his surprise win, he said: 'Overwhelming…all the people cheering…especially as I’ve been nominated more times than Gone With The Wind… I got saved by these people and the people at home.
He added: “I thought I'd stand my ground and just be me.”
He also claimed that some arguments in the house caused damage.
'I'm slightly damaged because of that, and all you got to do is be truthful, and truth will conquer all.'
He added: 'It takes two hands to clap, takes two to argue, with Linda we're talking about. She's a fantastic artist, I really do admire her, we did clash a bit, but I can't wait for her to buy me a pint.'
Jim will be re-starting his stand-up tour and he may finish the run with a Channel 5 show.
