Scottish Funding for Innovators

Organisations in Scotland with great ideas on how to improve services using technology are invited to apply for up to £250,000 funding.

Public sector organisations in Scotland, including the Scottish Anti-Illicit Trade Group, Glasgow City Council, Stirling Council and Scottish Housing Regulator, are inviting innovators to develop solutions to some of the most pressing issues they face today.

 

The challenges, which were issued by the Scottish Government Digital Directorate through its CivTech Programme, include the following:

 

·       Glasgow City Council is looking for a digital solution to address social isolation. It is looking for products or services that can help better connect people and improve access to services, learning opportunities and employment.

 

·       NHS National Services Scotland wants to review how it manages single-use medical products and pharmaceuticals. It is also looking for solutions to minimise NHS waiting time.

 

·       Scottish Housing Regulator is inviting ideas to increase standards in social rented housing and give tenants a stronger voice in the services they pay for through the use of data.

 

Interested organisations may send their application between 11 June and 2 July 2018. Up to three contracts of £3,000 will be awarded to initially explore each challenge area. Further funding could be then made available for field testing and implementation. Successful projects will be fully funded.
