Samsung and Spotify Stream Up
Samsung confirms new partnership with Sweden-based streaming music service Spotify.

Samsung has announced that it has partnered with Spotify, making it the “go-to music provider” on all of its devices, including the Galaxy smart home speaker. The music streaming service will be fully integrated with Samsung’s voice assistant, Bixby.
Both firms are in direct competition with Apple. Thus, their partnership may likely put them in a better position to challenge the iOS maker. Experts say that it will help strengthen Spotify’s listener base and surpass Pandora by 2022. Samsung, on the other hand, will be able to offer consumers another music streaming service pre-installed on its devices. The giant Korean technology company hopes that this will give Apple users another reason to switch to Samsung devices.
Currently, Amazon is the leader in smart speaker space, with 66.6per cent of smart speakers using an Amazon Echo.
“A growing number of US households are consuming audio through smart speakers,” said Martín Utreras, eMarketer’s vice president of forecasting. “For audio platforms like Spotify, integration and partnerships with those manufacturers will be a key driver for growth.”
