Run the London Marathon Virtually
The 2020 London Marathon will be a virtual race for non-elites, who can clock 26.2 miles within a 24-hour period on 4 October.

Interested parties who were not able to secure a place in the London Marathon can now sign up to take part in the virtual race, which will take place on the 4th of October.
Participants from around the world have 24 hours to clock their 26.2 miles, whether they are running, jogging or walking. A special app will be made available on the day of the event, which runners can use to upload their times to receive their medal and finisher's T-shirts. The app will also feature race commentary and words of wisdom from some famous faces to bring the experience to life.
Interested parties may now sign up on the London Marathon website. The places are being offered on a first come, first served basis and will cost £20 for UK participants and £25 for those outside of the UK.
All participants must record their run on a training app such as Mapmyrun or Strava. Runners will then need to upload the virtual evidence on the London Marathon app. Event organisers have urged participants to be creative by plotting their own virtual marathon.
