Rules You Need to Follow To Make Your Salon Safe
If the past year has taught us anything, it’s the importance of health and safety.

When customers come into your salon you want to ensure you’ve created a safe environment for them. Not only for their benefit, but for yours as well. There are certain rules you need to follow so you and your clients feel comfortable together.
Covid Guidelines
Unfortunately, it’s impossible to write about salon safety rules without mentioning Covid-19. When your salon is allowed to open you need to make sure you’re following the government’s guidelines on what your business needs to do. These include ventilation, supporting the NHS track and trace, and wearing a mask. Most of these steps are quite simple to follow and can make a big impact on your salon’s safety.
Regular Cleaning
Regularly cleaning is a must to keep your salon’s hygiene standards high. You should create a checklist of what needs cleaning and when it needs doing. This includes the physical space and your work surfaces, alongside all of the tools you’re using. It’s recommended you clean between each of your clients. Then you can give a great manicure with white nails tips, knowing your space and equipment are as clean as possible.
Different Methods
You should be aware there are different cleaning procedures you need to be following in your salon. There is sanitation, which is washing your hands and wiping down surfaces to reduce the bacteria. There’s disinfecting - which you can do for your tools and surfaces. Spend time researching the recommended solutions for this. Finally, there’s sterilisation which kills all forms of life and should be used on your mental tools. You need to invest in high-quality equipment to get the best sterilisation results. Make sure to include all three steps in your cleaning schedule.
Personal Hygiene
There are rules that you personally need to be following to keep your salon safe and hygienic. This includes wearing your uniform and regularly washing it. Wash your hands. Also, it’s a good idea to invest in disposable gloves. You’re representing your business and how you look can impact how customers view the salon. So you need to keep yourself presentable and tidy.
Even though so much has changed in the past year, people still enjoy going to the salon to treat themselves. Now, more than ever, it’s important you create a safe, clean, environment for yourself and your clients. Do you have any cleaning tips for a salon?
