In an interview on the Talk show, Priyanka revealed who were her inspiration for that look. She also stated that she was hardly aware about the theme. The theme was Champ: Notes on fashion. Priyanka Chopra later added that she took inspiration from King Louis and his era and was inspired by Johnny Depp's look as Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.

The Dress

To attend the prestigious event, she was dressed by Dior. She wore a dramatic caged dress with cascading rainbow feathered skirt and cape. The gown and cape were made from tulle and featured embroideries of tulle feathers and silver strass. Feathers was cut by hand and then attached in graded layers, going from grey and blush pink to bolder yellow, fuchsia and fiery red. It took a team of 10 petites-mains worked on the dress for a total of 1500 hours.
