11:44 18 December 2020
'Stream to the Street', an online charity gig featuring some of Preston's best bands, is returning on Saturday 19 December for a special Christmas live stream.
The event, which will benefit music and mental health charity, will be participated by Champagne Nippers, Hyperjax Duo and Ivan Campo. It will also feature conversations and Christmas festivities.
Councillor Peter Kelly, Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure at Preston City Council, said: “After the success of the first ‘Stream to the street’ we’re pleased to be returning with some festive joy in aid of a fantastic charity.
“Music has a way of bringing people together and allowing us to escape the stresses of life which have been many this year.
“As a city council it’s a pleasure to support events like this and the brilliant cultural scene we have in Preston.”
Sarah Hanson, the Event Promoter behind Stream to the street, added: “It’s been both an honour and a real treat for me to put these events on. Live music is so important to us all and I decided much earlier in the year that Coronavirus wouldn’t stop us enjoying it!
“We have so much musical talent and some great music venues in Preston, I could put on 10 more of these and still not utilise everyone…so watch this space!”
