Oculus Rift, one of the pioneers of virtual reality technologies, has announced that it will accept pre-orders for its high-tech headset this week.
Punters will be able to secure a device on Oculus.com from 4pm (GMT) on January 6th.
The Oculus headset is yet to be launched to the public.
In its official website, the company wrote: "We’ll be sharing everything you need to know to order your Rift on Wednesday when pre-orders go live,"
The company’s co-founder, Palmer Luckey, will take part in an ask-me-anything event on Reddit on Wednesday to market the start of pre-orders.
“VR will become something everyone wants before it becomes something everyone can afford,” wrote Luckey on Twitter last year.
“Future advancements and high volume will make VR available to everyone eventually, but 1st gen will be mostly early adopters," he said.
