Police Urge Sutton Bridge CCTV Upgrade
CCTV in Sutton Bridge should be upgraded, police has suggested.
12:24 16 December 2018
Police in Sutton Bridge are urging the local council to upgrade its CCTV system with better cameras and a link to the control room at Boston. The suggestion was made at a meeting between the clerk to the council, Robert Smith, and Sgt Colin Clarkson and PC Craig Lockton.
During the meeting, concerns about anti-social behaviour in the areas were raised. The police also emphasised the importance of reporting all incidents on 101.
Reporting on his meeting with police, Mr Smith said: “It was considered that any attempt to re-introduce by-laws or a Public Space Protection Order for the Memorial Park would fail as there had been insufficient reports of incidents.
“The matter of how to get more people to report incidents on 101 was raised, both in terms of publicising its use, and ensuring that operators acted professionally and responded appropriately.”
If CCTV is upgraded, The Curlew Centre and Memorial Park are likely to be the first in line as cameras are in place.
