After it was established that Peaches Geldof died of a heroin overdose, police have launched a criminal inquiry and are now hunting for the drug dealer who gave her the drugs before she died.
The 25-year-old writer, model, and TV presenter died last month and was discovered by her husband Tom Cohen at their home in Kent. During the incident, Ms Geldof was looking after her 11-month old son Phaedra. Her husband came from his parents’ house in London with his mother and 23-month-old son Astala.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham, of Kent Police, told the inquest: "Forensic samples have been examined and the results concluded there was recent use of heroin.
"The levels identified were likely to have played a role in her death."
Meanwhile, it was revealed that people close to Ms Geldof didn’t have any reason to be concerned hours before she died.
DCI Fotheringham added: "All of the friends and family who had contact with Peaches during this period described how she seemed her normal self.
"She was making plans for the future, including a family outing for her sons for the following weekend.
"There was no cause for concern."
