Playstation 5 Details Unveiled

PS5 is in a different league than the PS4 and even the PS4 Pro.

The details behind the technical and hardware components of the new PlayStation 5 have been finally revealed. Described as an innovative and powerful platform, PS5 features highly immersive 3D audio, custom AMD GPU with ray tracing, integrated custom I/O system, and the ultra-high-speed SSD.

 

Mark Cerny, lead system architect for PS5, said that PS5 has been designed with a goal to remove barriers to play - specifically loading screens. Packed with powerful features, developers are able to stream assets into PS5 games at an incredibly fast rate and enjoy seamless and dynamic gaming experience. 

 

PS5's custom GPU will allow for higher resolution in games. Its ray tracking feature simulates the way light moves in real life and how it bounces off various surfaces making objects appear more accurately and with heightened realism. This means that a character's hair, light refraction, glass, water and other components will look even more realistic. 

 

The platform's 3D audio is also impressive, delivering compelling audio experiences for all users and not just those with high-end speaker systems. This feature will allow users to hear the sounds with a greater sense of presence and locality
