Users have been informed of this and of other available options.
John Gallon, a former parish counsellor for Craster Parish Council, has previously campaigned for better mobile phone signals in the area and is now expressing concern about the end of TuGo.
He is worried that the WIFI alternative will not prove as effective as the previous service.
A spokesperson for O2 said that in order to provide customers with the most current options to make calls, services are reviewed continually. Different calling options, such as 4G and WIFI are being offered which have been available since earlier this year.
Any customers who are unsure abut the best options available to them can contact O2 customer services.
The provision of 4G in rural areas is an area in which O2 continues to invest and Northumberland will be receiving more 4G coverage in the coming months.
