Singer Peter Andre and model Elen Rivas have denied that their relationship was a publicity stunt, following their split after just five months together.

The couple have hit back at claims that their brief partnership was a publicity stunt set up by their shared management, Can Associates.

Reality star Peter's hectic filming schedule has been blamed for the split, after the couple broke things off on 1 April over the phone.

The News of the World is reporting that the Mysterious Girl singer told a friend:

"I did adore Elen, she is so stunning. But the fact is I just didn't get to see her in the end."

Since the news broke, Peter has been seen getting close to The Only Way is Essex star Amy Childs, while Elen has been focussing on her training for the London Marathon.

The couple began dating after they met at their manager Claire Powell's 45th birthday in 2010.
