Chat show legend Michael Parkinson could be set to appear on Coronation Street.
The 69-year-old has recently completed a move to ITV and admitted that appearing on the Weatherfield soap is his greatest dream.
For a change Parky was being interviewed when he revealed his "great ambition".
While appearing on This Morning with Lorraine Kelly and Philip Schofield he announced he not only wanted to tread The Street, but has his eye on one of its residents.
"My great ambition is to be in Coronation Street. I love Coronation Street, I've kind of grown up with it," he said.
"Sunita is the one for me and I don't think that Dev treats her right at all."
Parky feels that he is far better suited to wooing the shop siren than her current, fictional, finance Dev Alahan.
"He's got no clue at all, she needs the attention of an older, more experienced man and I'm putting myself forward for that," he revealed.
"What I want to do is contrive a situation where I'm driving past Sunita's door, maybe on the way to a gig somewhere, and my car breaks down and I knock on the door and she answers it and I say can I borrow a spanner from you? Or something sexy like that."
And the admiration between the king of chat and the country's premier soap appears to be mutual.
A Coronation Street spokesperson told the press: "We are really, really flattered that Michael Parkinson has expressed such an interest in the show.
But the spokesperson did dash the older man's romantic plans.
"It would be unlikely he would play Sunita's love interest as he is so well known but we will be talking to the producer about a possible cameo role in the show if the storyline allows it," the spokesperson told the Press Association.
