Oxford Open Doors to be live-streamed for the first time.
20:53 03 September 2018
For the first time, Oxford Open Doors will live stream select tours and lectures directly via the trust’s website to give people who would not normally be able to attend a chance to take part in the event. Viewers will be able to get a rare glimpse of Oxford’s most treasured and significant buildings from the comforts of their own home.
The event, which is organised by the Oxford Preservation Trust in partnership with Oxford University, will see dozens of historic sites that are usually closed to the public open up this weekend.
Debbie Dance, director of Oxford Preservation Trust said: “Every year we work hard to widen our audience so the chance to work with Oxford City Council and Oxford University to livestream some of our special places and people is something new and a brilliant idea.”
She said: “Live-streaming is a great step forward for accessibility and inclusivity within Oxford’s cultural sector, breaking down boundaries that may have otherwise meant certain people wouldn’t be able to attend.”
