North Yorkshire Superfast Broadband
North Yorkshire County Council's broadband project expands to bring broadband to more than 180,000 homes and businesses.
06:39 18 June 2020
North Yorkshire County Council is set to enter the latest stage of its Superfast North Yorkshire project to bring superfast, more reliable broadband service to additional 180,000 homes and businesses across the county. The move takes the council a step closer to realising its vision to achieve 100per cent superfast broadband coverage across North Yorkshire.
The council is expected to choose a suitable Next Generation Access (NGA) service provider that could deliver the technology in places where it is not yet available. The £12.5million project is funded by the county council and is managed on behalf of NYCC by NYnet.
The plan is to complete the procurement process and announce the supplier by December 2020.
