On September 12, Apple announced not one but two new iPhones – iPhone 8 and iPhone X. The event marks the 10th year since the first groundbreaking device was launched and the House that Steve Jobs built did not disappoint.
Coincidentally, 2017 is also the year that 5G trials have begun to ramp up with early launches promised for 2018. It only makes sense to assume that the two iPhones will include 5G, right?
5G is the next generation mobile technology that uses new radio technologies to provide mobile users ultra fast internet connection. It involves the use of new, largely untapped swathes of high-frequency spectrum as well as Internet of Things (IoT) and enterprise services.
Many experts believed that the new iPhones will include Gigabit LTE, which is a supporting LTE Category 16 download speeds of gigabit speeds on the downlink.
Many smartphones now provide support for this technology and many carriers are eager to see these devices on their networks.
However, Apples quarrel with Qualcom means consumers will miss out on Gigabit LTE.
