A town app designed to tell both visitors and locals everything they need to know about Cardigan is to be officially launched later this month. Interested businesses, including local shops, hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs and pubs are all invited to the launch on 21 February at the Guildhall (7pm).
The app provides complete information of everything the town has to offer, including where to go eat, list of local shops, places to visit and upcoming events. The app even offers a brief potted history and pictures from a bygone era.
The project was funded by support from the Town Centre Partnership, the town council and Cardigan traders who have signed up for it. The development cost, on the other hand, was covered by a European grant via the local authority.
The driving force behind the scheme, former mayor and current town and county councillor Clive Davies, said that the app aims to “provide anyone who comes to Cardigan everything they need to know about our little market town,”
“It includes some very clever features such as 360 degree images, augmented reality, games and you can even take a selfie with our Teifi otter.”
