Portuguese transsexual Nadia Almada has been voted the winner of Big Brother 5.
The 27-year old was the bookies' favourite to take home the ?63,500 lolly.
The prize fund started at ?100,000 but money was lopped off each time the housemates failed a task.
Jason Cowan, a 30-year-old air steward from Glasgow, came second.
Earlier in the evening hairdresser Daniel Bryan from Hull followed Glaswegian student Shell Jubin Glasgow in exiting the BB house.
The floodgates opened when Nadia heard the news.
It took her twenty minutes to compose herself after Jason left her alone.
On leaving the house, the crowd chanted her name and fireworks lit up the Hertfordshire sky.
Nadia received a massive 74 per cent of the final vote.
The bank clerk began the series as a 50-1 outsider.
Jason said he was "chuffed to bits" to have come second.
"It's made me a better person so I've enjoyed it."
Third place Daniel told viewers he didn't want to win: "It's not something I would've been comfortable with. It's not hard work in the house."
And Shell said: "People just kicked me up the backside a bit and I had good fun from it."
