Moyles breaks world record
Radio DJ's marathon raises over £2million for Comic Relief...
10:32 18 March 2011
Radio One DJ Chris Moyles and his on-air partner 'Comedy' Dave Vitty have broken the Guiness world record for the longest radio show.
They also raised a massive £2.5million for Comic Relief in the process.
The record was broken at 8.30am on 18 March, but the pair kept broadcasting until 10.30am, making the final total on air 52 hours.
Chris and Dave also smashed Simon Mayo's Radio One record for the longest Radio One show along the way, which stood at 37 hours.
The pair started broadcasting at 6.30am on 16 March and had to join every presenter in the usual schedule as guests for the record to be valid.
They were also allowed five minutes every hour off air, which they saved up to have showers and keep themselves awake.
Chris and Dave were joined on their marathon by a series of famous faces, including James Corden, Lily Allen, Ricky Gervais and Katy Perry.
The Comic Relief show kicks off tonight at 7pm on BBC One.
