The success of "Shrek 2" could mean that a third and fourth film in the series are now on the cards.

The animated feature about the eponymous big green ogre took $108 million in its first weekend - making it the second biggest US opening weekend ever.

This stunning success means that DreamWorks has decided to push on with plans for a third and then fourth film.

Talks are underway to secure the services of the actors that voice the pixellated characters. And rumours say stars like Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy are happy to come back to the studio.
