Reports indicate Eddie Murphy has agreed to star in a new comedy based on "Romeo and Juliet".
The as-yet-untitled film from DreamWorks apparently tells the story of Romeo and Juliet from their parents' point of view.
The film was written by Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield, who worked with Murphy back in the 1970s on "Saturday Night Live".
Over the years they have made their names with a list of Eddie Murphy films, such as the box office hits of the "Nutty Professor" films, "Boomerang" and "Coming to America".
The controversial, outspoken king of stand-up has tamed his routine since his first appearance, and over time has branched out into the mainstream world of family comedies.
Following the huge success of the first one, Mr Murphy's new film, "Shrek 2", opens in UK this summer.
Mr Murphy is also set to begin work soon on the sequel to "Daddy Day Care", entitled "Daddy Day Camp".
