Phil and Grant Mitchell, the Bill and Ben of soap, are to return to EastEnders in a bid to win back the Queen Vic, no doubt violently.

The Square, already rocked by the return of one Mitchell in the form of the terrifying Peggy, will not know what's hit it when the not-so-dynamic duo return.

Phil, played by Steve McFadden, is horrified to find that the Mitchell clan no longer owns the Vic, Arches, or cafe.

Sister Sam was conned out of the family businesses by Dirty Den and Andy Hunter, and Phil is determined to get them back.

An EastEnders mole told the Sun: "Phil cannot believe what's been allowed to happen while he's been in prison."

And when his bruvver Grant, played by Ross Kemp, returns from sunning himself in Rio, the pair team up to get back what's rightfully theirs.

Meanwhile, Frank Butcher is another old favourite set to show his face in the Square before the year is out.

But strangely for the happy-go-lucky fella his return is full of grimaces and sour expressions as he supports daughter Janine when she goes on trial for murder.
