Missing Malaysia Airlines plane was 'flown towards India's Andaman Islands’

Malaysian police are ‘looking at sabotage, with hijack still on the cards’ too.

Searches for the missing plane, which went off the radar a week ago, have focused east of Malaysia in the South Sea. This is the location where it made contact after taking off from Kuala Lumpur. Now, reports confirmed that the search has been expanded into Indian Ocean as radar-tracking evidence showed that the missing Malaysia Airlines plane was deliberately flown towards the Andaman Islands.

Hishammuddin Hussein, Malaysia’s acting transport minister, confirmed the report adding that there was evidence of a plane turning back but it may not have been the missing flight. "A normal investigation becomes narrower with time. But this is not a normal investigation. In this case, the information we have forces us to look further and further afield," he added.

Due to recent developments, Malaysia police are confirming that they are still looking for possible sabotage “with hijack still on the cards.”

Meanwhile, White House spokesman Jay Carney also made announcements saying: "It's my understanding that based on some new information that's not necessarily conclusive - but new information - an additional search area may be opened in the Indian Ocean."

The US Navy 7th Fleet said it was moving one of its ships towards the Indian Ocean.
