Mel Gibson’s divorce has cost him a total of £250 million, and it is now dubbed as the most costly celebrity split ever. 

 

The actor’s ex-wife Robyn Moore has brought home half of the actor’s fortune and 50 per cent of the pension benefits the actor has built up during their marriage of 31 years.

 

The couple, who have seven children together, chose not to have a pre-nuptial agreement before getting married.

 

Final details of the divorce settlement were released to the public yesterday after nine grueling months since the couple divorced.

 

Moore, a dental nurse who Gibson met after his controversial drunk-driving case in 2006, filed for divorce after the actor announced he was having a baby with Oksana Grigorieva, his Russian mistress. 

 

Moorewill also get a hand in their conjugal properties in the U.S., Australia, Costa Rica, and Fiji.

 

Reports say she will gain50 percent of the actor’s film rights, including that of the religious epic film ‘The Passion of the Christ’. Additionally, she will get half the benefits Gibson accumulated through Icon, the production company he owns. 

 

Gibson now has a two-year-old daughter named Lucia with Miss Grigorieva.

 

The £250 million divorce bill exceeds the £94 million bill that singer Neil Diamond paid to his ex-wife Marcia Murphey, and the £74 million that Harrison Ford paid to Melissa Mathison.
